You Can Still Use Your Sassa Gold Card to Collect SASSA Grants

If you receive a grant from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), you needn’t worry.

Your old gold Sassa card still works, and you can continue using it until you get your new black card.

The New Black Sassa Card

Postbank has launched a new black Sassa card to replace the old gold card. This new card is part of Postbank’s Mzansi Debit Card program.

What Do I Need to Do?

Check SASSA Grant Status

To get your new black card:

  1. Visit select Boxer and Pick n Pay stores in Gauteng.
  2. Bring your ID and required documents (e.g., Sassa proxy letter).

What Are the Benefits of the New Black Card?

  • Easy Payments: Make payments without cash.
  • Convenient Withdrawals: Access ATMs and Post Office branches nationwide.
  • Manage Your Money: Use debit and credit orders to handle monthly expenses.

Account Limits: R25,000 account balance and R5,000 daily withdrawals.

One Account Only: You can only hold one Mzansi account.

Your Grants Remain Unchanged

You’ll continue to receive the same benefits, and no one (including Sassa officials) can force you to switch banks or replace your gold card except Postbank.
